About the role:
The Head of Human Resources (HR) is an integral role for further developing the people strategy that supports and aligns with the organisations strategic priorities. This role will work closely with the Executive Team and oversee operational and strategic HR functions.
Key objectives of the role:
- Partner with the Executive to develop and lead the implementation of strategic HR initiatives
- Foster and enable positive organisational culture that increases employee engagement
- Further embed performance management and employee professional development programs
- Create specific communication and transition strategies to help support change management within the organisation
- Provide coaching and support to leaders within he business, manage and develop the HR team and provide company wide engagement
- General HR operations, executing the organisations HR strategy, ensuring legal compliance, policies and legislation are being met
- Oversee full cycle recruitment, retention and implementation of organisational brand
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, oversee disciplinary meetings and maintain knowledge of legal requirements when managing employee cases
- Develop and manage remuneration and benefits for all employees
- Other HR duties and responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; Master’s degree prefers experience
- Extensive experience in progressive HR, including several years in a senior HR role managing a small HR team
- Previous experience working in a not-for-profit organisation, government agency or professional association is preferable
- Provide track record developing and implementing HR strategies in a small to medium organisation
- Experience in change management and organisational development within HR
- Demonstrated expertise in compliance and risk management
- Experience working in a Matric management model is ideal
- High emotional intelligence, with a strong ability to communicate and manage stakeholders
- Strong leadership experience and values
