The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) is the peak professional body for midwives across Australia. We provide national leadership, education, and advocacy to support, inspire and develop midwives at every stage of their career. About you

As the Executive Support Officer, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day functioning of the CEO and Chief Midwife roles. You’ll also provide high-level support to the ACM Board and be a trusted liaison with key stakeholders across government, health organisations, and the wider community.

Key responsibilities and duties:
  • Executive Support to the CEO and Chief Midwife, including diary management, travel coordination, stakeholder liaison, and drafting communications.
  • Board Support, including meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and administrative assistance.
  • Project Coordination, including supporting strategic initiatives, research, document preparation and report drafting.
  • Internal Events, including organising staff off-sites, team meetings, and executive planning sessions.
  • Office & Operations Support, assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks and helping to keep things running smoothly.
Previous experience:
  • Previous experience in an executive or high-level administrative support role.
  • Background in healthcare, government, or as a political staffer is highly desirable.
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or similar qualifications (business college background welcomed).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom and database systems.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
  • Highly organised with strong time management and multitasking ability.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Confident working independently and as part of a close-knit, passionate team.
  • A proactive problem solver who brings initiative and a calm, can-do attitude.
