                                       Assistant Accountant  
   

  • $70 – 75,000 + superannuation, full – time permanent opportunity.
  • Sydney Olympic Park office location.
  • Immediately available opportunity for a well-loved for-purpose organisation.
   

Role responsibilities

   
Reporting into the Head of Finance, this role handles accounts payables and receivables, and actively collaborates across the team to ensure financial compliance, month-end processes, and reporting.
  • Daily bank reconciliations.
  • Gather invoices, obtain approval, process invoices using Xero and upload to bank for approval and payment.
  • Be responsible for accounts payables/receivables, addressing internal and external account enquiries and providing timely and professional customer service.
  • Checking credit card transactions against receipt, receiving approval and processing transactions onto Xero.
  • Support with month-end activities, preparing and posting journals, performing reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies
  • Manage BAS activities and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
   
Essential Requirements
   
You will have a continuous growth mindset and be passionate about processes as well as process improvement.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Finance or Accounting or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role, with an understanding of tax and other business obligations regarding accounts.
  • Strong Excel skills and aptitude across the Microsoft Office suite, and experience using Xero.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Positive attitude and a growth mindset when taking on feedback.
  • Process-driven working style, with the ability to manage competing priorities and timelines without losing attention to detail.
